I know of the opposite of a relative dying due to refusing a blood transfusion. It was a sister in the congregation that gave birth to a child. It was either she or her infant that needed a blood transfusion and she made the decision to accept it. She was disfellowshipped, of course, so now a baby had its mother and a mother had her infant. -

In the 6th and 7th lines of the first section, the following words, “and not being ministers of the gospel of any denomination.”
The note of the same section of these words, “Ministers of the Gospel are excluded to avoid jealousy from the other sects, were the public education committed to the ministers of a particular one; and with more reason than in the case of their exclusion from the legislative and executive functions.”

"StopTheTears, I hope you don't consider yourself a christian because your hatred of communism would mean a hatred of certain principles of christianity. 1st century christians practiced communism. Go read the early chapters of the book of Acts."
44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Acts 2:44-45 New International Version

If you would do the most basic research, other than the schizoid one you've done, you would have found out that Helen Keller's teacher was the one who taught her sign language making it obvious that it predated her.
As far as who invented it you can go here to find out.

It was a rainy day close to Christmas and we had a special meeting. The stated purpose of the meeting was to get us together for fraternizing as a substitute for the holidays. It was emphasized at the meetings that the holidays were evil.
A person who appeared homeless came in to the hall and said that he just wanted to get out of the rain. When the meeting ended he said "Happy holidays even though you don't believe in them."

Something odd about how Watchtower portrays prayer versus how JWs actually pray.
by Island Man inwatchtower literature often depicts individuals praying with their hands clasped together or kneeling on the ground in their bedroom.. but i don't recall ever seeing a jw praying like that.
i have never seen a jw praying in a kneeling position or with hands clasped together.
have you?.

Island Man: "I would say that eyes closed with heads slightly bowed, is the JWs' special prayer position."
But that may not be a sufficient hint for 'worldly' people reading the literature. They will need a stronger hint than that to realize that the JWs are in prayer mode.

Maybe the editors realize that the Witnesses do not take any special prayer position so they portray them with traditional - in Christendom - prayer positions so the reader know there is a prayer being said. -
